The challenge
An integrity dig found external corrosion on a 12-inch gas gathering line close to a road crossing. A cut-out would have meant a shutdown, purging and a new crossing permit.
Our scope
- Assessed the defects and designed the repair to ASME PCC-2
- Prepared the surface and installed the composite wrap system under live conditions
- Surveyed the cathodic protection system and corrected under-protected sections
- Issued repair records and calculations for the operator’s integrity file
The result
Line restored to its maximum allowable operating pressure with no interruption to throughput.
